Gold climbs back toward recent highs on renewed safe-haven demand
Fresh demand for defensive assets helped gold strengthen at the start of the week, with traders still focused on the dollar and interest-rate expectations.
Investors added to bullion positions as geopolitical and macro uncertainty supported safe-haven flows. Analysts said gold could remain supported in the near term as long as the dollar does not strengthen sharply and expectations for rate cuts later in the year stay alive.
