Banks trim 2026 gold forecasts as rate expectations turn more hawkish
Some banks lowered near-term average gold forecasts as the Federal Reserve outlook became more hawkish, while retaining a constructive longer-term view.
Forecasts are not guarantees, but they show how institutions are reassessing the dollar, rates and inflation. The revisions suggest that a high-rate environment can cap near-term valuations, while central-bank demand, portfolio diversification and geopolitical risk continue to support longer-term bullion demand.
